OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE ROBOT

 

Description:

The competition targets any kind of wheeled robots, fully autonomous, with a size that did not exceed 25*25 cm. The competition aims to promote autonomous robots prototyping and programming. Participant with evidence of a fully build robot are encouraged to enroll and attend. The competition is organized as follows; a robot is placed on a start point a left free with a mission to attend an end point, the competition arena is about 3m*3m size, the obstacles are market and placed randomly on the arena. The robot should avoid them, attend the end point and show evidence of stop at this position. The arena also includes maze and obstacles. The robot should solve the maze and have to avoid the obstacles.

 

Gernal Rules

  1. Winner is declared based on point rating and on its time score.
  2. Winner is declared by the competition chair, based on the rating of the judges.
  3. Teams should respect security rules, and be “fair play”.
  4. During the competitions, only the team leader is authorized to present the robot.
  5. During the competitions, only the team leader is authorized to contact committee members for any claim or specific need.
  6. Evaluation desk and competition judges are independent; the organizers could not interfere in their decisions.
  7. The following comportments could lead a team to be disqualified:
    1. Evidence of non-respect to other teams and competitors.
    2. Evidence of non-respect to security rules.
    3. Evidence of non-respects to competition judges.
  8. Judges has not the right to be enrolled in any competition.

 

Competition Rules:

The winner would be announced on the basis of following:

  1. Only Wheeled robots are authorized to attend this competition.
  2. The robot size should not exceed (25*25*25) cm (large, long, high), and 3 Kg of weight to be authorized to compete.
  3. The robot must have at least 2 degrees of freedom.
  4. Robots should be equipped with a start button as well as an emergency stop button.
  5. Competition includes a qualification round and a final round.
  6. Are qualified to finals the teams having the best ranking in qualifications.
  7. Robots must be controlled with a programmable device and should be fully autonomous.
  8. The team leader should present the robot to the homologation desk.
  9. The team leader is the man in charge for the competition judges.
  10. The robot must avoid obstacles without any mechanical contact with them.
  11. The dynamic obstacle is a robot with a free geometric form and size.
  12. The maximum number of obstacles is fixed to 6.
  13. The maximum size of obstacle is fixed to (30*30*30) cm, obstacles geometry is free.
  14. Obstacles positions are fixed by the competition judges.
  15. Start point, start direction and end point are fixed by the judges.
  16. Competition arena is made of a flat wood platform, with a size close to 3*3 meters (exact size will be made public).
  17. The robot is placed by at the start point and should attend the end point.
  18. A dead time for each attempt is fixed to 3 minutes, 3 minutes score is (zero point).
  19. In qualifications only two attempts are authorized, raking is made using the best robot position.
  20. In finals a single attempt is authorized.
  21. Robot also has to solve the maze by its best.
  22. Robot will autonomously solve maze and avoid the obstacle and reach the final point.

Registration:
Rs.800 per team, Maximum of 7 members are allowed per team. (For University)
